LiDAR Boost: Real-time navigation in GNSS-denied environments
LiDAR Boost is OXTS’ real-time localization technology designed for GNSS-denied environments. Fusing lidar data with high-performance GNSS/INS navigation enables continuous high-accuracy localization in tunnels, underground, urban canyons and indoor environments. Powered by lidar inertial odometry (LIO) and live map matching (LMM), LiDAR Boost effectively constrains drift and delivers stable and repeatable navigation performance. LIO analyzes the data from a lidar scanner to detect planes and objects, calculating vehicle motion while reducing drift and multipath errors. LMM can compare the data being gathered by the lidar scanner with pre-built high-resolution point cloud maps to achieve centimeter-level, repeatable localization with zero drift or variation. Integrated within WayFinder, LiDAR Boost enables rapid deployment without complex integration or algorithm development, providing an out-of-box navigation solution.
